2025 Super Cup in a four-team format! Matchups are set

The 2024-25 season in the Trendyol Super League has concluded. Following the teams' point standings and their performances in the Turkish Cup, the 2025 Super Cup matchups have been determined.

Accordingly, league champions Galatasaray will face Turkish Cup finalists Trabzonspor. League runners-up Fenerbahçe will go head-to-head with Samsunspor, who finished the season in third place.

Beşiktaş will not be able to participate in the Super Cup as they finished the league in fourth place and were eliminated from the cup in the quarterfinals. 

SUPER CUP TO BE PLAYED IN NEW FORMAT FOR THE FIRST TIME

The Super Cup will be played with four teams for the first time. The matches will be held on neutral ground or grounds using a single-elimination format. In the semifinals, the league champion will be paired with the cup finalist, and the cup winner will be paired with the league runner-up. The winning teams will qualify to play in the final match.

However, because Galatasaray guaranteed a top-two finish in the league this season and also won the Turkish Cup, Samsunspor, who finished the league in third place, became the final team to qualify for the 2025 Super Cup.

It was decided that the Super Cup would be played in January 2026, taking into account the UEFA qualifying matches that the teams will play before the season.

The exact dates and final venues will be announced later.
