6 more countries qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup

In the 10th week of the World Cup African Qualifiers Group C, South Africa hosted Rwanda.

Winning the match 3-0 with goals from Thalente Mbatha, Oswin Reagan Appollis, and Evidence Makgopa, South Africa finished the group as leaders with 21 points, earning the right to participate in the tournament for the first time since 2010.

Nigeria, which was in the same group, defeated Benin 4-0 in a match where Galatasaray's Victor Osimhen scored a hat-trick, and advanced to the play-offs as the group runner-up.

In Group B, Senegal defeated Mauritania 4-0 with goals from Sadio Mane (2), Iliman Ndiaye, and Habib Diallo, securing their World Cup ticket with 24 points.

In Group F, Ivory Coast beat Kenya 1-0 at home with a goal from Franck Kessie, becoming another country from the continent to head to the World Cup.

QATAR AND SAUDI ARABIA FROM ASIA

In the Asian Qualifiers, Qatar, which hosted the 2022 World Cup, and Saudi Arabia, which will host the 2034 World Cup, have earned the right to participate in the tournament.

In Group A, Qatar defeated the United Arab Emirates 2-1, while in Group B, Saudi Arabia drew with Iraq.

In the European qualifiers, Group K leaders England defeated Latvia 5-0 away, making it 6 wins out of 6 and guaranteeing their spot in the tournament.

NUMBER OF COUNTRIES WITH CONFIRMED PARTICIPATION REACHES 28

The number of countries confirmed to participate in the tournament has risen to 28.

England, Saudi Arabia, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Qatar, South Africa, Cape Verde, Australia, Iran, Japan, Jordan, South Korea, Uzbekistan, New Zealand, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Uruguay, Algeria, and Ghana are the teams that have guaranteed their place in the World Cup so far.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted by the USA, Canada, and Mexico, will be held from June 11 to July 19, 2026, with the participation of 48 teams for the first time in history.

Hosts USA, Canada, and Mexico will participate in the World Cup directly.
