A strange decision from the TFF at a time when violence on the pitch is rising!

The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) Arbitration Board has canceled the point deduction and relegation penalties introduced for physical assaults against match officials.

According to the TFF's statement, the Arbitration Board reviewed the objections filed by Fenerbahçe, Beşiktaş, Kasımpaşa, MKE Ankaragücü, İstanbulspor, Pendikspor, Karagümrük, Sivasspor, and Adana Demirspor regarding the sanctions added to Article 44 of the Football Disciplinary Instruction by the TFF Board of Directors on January 12.

As a result of its evaluation, the Board decided unanimously to cancel the relevant clause added to Article 44 of the Football Disciplinary Instruction.

The TFF Board of Directors had added the following clause to the 3rd paragraph of Article 44 of the Football Disciplinary Instruction on January 12: "In cases of physical assault by players, managers, or club officials against match officials, the club to which these individuals belong shall be penalized with a deduction of 3 to 6 points in competitions organized under a league format, and the club shall be disqualified from the relevant tournament in competitions organized under an elimination format. In the event of a second occurrence of the violation by club members within the same season in competitions organized under a league format, the club shall be disqualified from the league and relegated to a lower division."
