Abdullah Avcı reacts to the TFF!
Trabzonspor manager Abdullah Avcı made statements following the victory against Gençlerbirliği in the cup.
Trabzonspor manager Abdullah Avcı, whose team advanced to the quarterfinals after defeating Gençlerbirliği 2-1 in extra time in the Ziraat Turkish Cup Round of 16, said, "Trabzonspor does not give up; it will continue without giving up."
In the post-match press conference, Avcı drew attention to the poor pitch conditions, stating, "Natural disasters and pandemics occur, but football is still played. As the football family, are we helping the game, which has a healing power over people, in the same way? Neither Ankaragücü, nor Erzincanspor, nor Gençlerbirliği want to play on this pitch," he said.
"I THINK THE TFF HAS FALLEN ILL"
Stating that the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) should inspect the pitches, Avcı continued:
"To contribute to the development of Turkish football, this needs to become a standard. You see the goal we conceded today; the ball goes into the net because of the pitch while it is going out. The risk of injury is very high. It is not just here. What is the TFF doing about this issue? There has been no information for a long time. In fact, they haven't made a sound since the Super Cup final; I think they have fallen ill. We go to a match in Istanbul, we play in Esenyurt. It is not suitable for the criteria at all, the pitch is very bad. Then that team plays at the Olympic Stadium two weeks later. This is allowed. You go to an away game, and one side is completely a wall. Where is the brand value? The stands are empty, no one comes to the match. Please, let us all contribute to the beautiful side of this game as a football family."
Congratulating his players, Avcı said, "I think they played well under these conditions. We conceded a goal on the first transition. We played against a transition team. I also congratulate the Gençlerbirliği team. I think coach Sinan will add a new vision to Turkish football. He can make changes within the game," he expressed.
"WE WILL CONTINUE WITHOUT GIVING UP"
Stating that Trabzonspor is going through a transition period, the successful manager used the following words;
"Trabzonspor does not give up; it will continue without giving up. I believe that the fans will support Trabzonspor to the end during this transition period. We think that we will get through this process with their support. I have experienced very important emotions at Trabzonspor. I owe a debt to Trabzonspor; Trabzonspor does not owe me. It is a great community. As long as the fans give us this support, we will do the right things step by step. We are further ahead than where we started, but Trabzon's expectations are high. We will continue to do this in the best way possible."
TRANSFER COMMENTS
Regarding transfers, Abdullah Avcı said, "I also want us to sign 7-8 good players. Let's play different games. Should we sign 8 players now and put the club in debt, or should we manage this process correctly? Trabzonspor cannot wait two years for a player it signs," he remarked.
