Speaking to Beyaz TV, Acun Ilıcalı said, "I have taken the wheel of the bus. Our coach is at the wheel of the team. Hopefully, we will experience good days with him."

Regarding the Trabzonspor-Fenerbahçe match last season, which was marked by incidents, Ilıcalı said:

"I have known the Trabzonspor crowd for years. They were not having a good day in that match (last season). I also think the referee allowed the events to unfold. I believe the main culprit is the referee who was supposed to manage the match. It could have been called off much earlier. The Trabzonspor crowd was behaving that way because they did not want the match to be played. It can happen, it happens everywhere in the world, but the events went in a different direction. I don't think anything like that will happen this year."
