AKP Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality candidate Murat Kurum: 'I am a fan of all Istanbul clubs'

AKP Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayoral Candidate Murat Kurum visited Galatasaray Sports Club and was welcomed by Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek during the visit held at RAMS Park. In the press statement made after the visit, Kurum said, "As the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality mayoral candidate, I am a fan of all of Istanbul's clubs. I will show this support not only in words but also in action," he stated.

Emphasizing the importance of facilities, infrastructure, and sports tourism in sports, Murat Kurum said, "We will build sports facilities in every neighborhood of Istanbul. We want to ensure that new talents emerge and achieve success in the facilities where we will train our youth. Our goal is to ensure that these young people represent Turkey successfully both locally and internationally," he said.

He also stated that he plans to host European Championships in Istanbul and aims to increase sports tourism. Touching on the competition in the league, Kurum expressed that he cares about the struggle between the clubs and hopes that the one who deserves it wins.

Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek, on the other hand, stated that he thinks Murat Kurum is an important opportunity for Istanbul and said, "I am extremely sure that the Minister will focus his activities especially on the needs of Istanbul." Özbek also conveyed his wishes for success for the March 31 Local Elections and hoped that the election would be auspicious for Turkey and Istanbul. Özbek said, "I am of the opinion that the Minister is a chance for Istanbul. I am sure that he will focus his activities especially on the needs of Istanbul."
