Ali Koç: Fenerbahçe cannot become champion while I am at the head of this club
Fenerbahçe Sports Club President Ali Koç, during a live broadcast, stated, "Do you think it is a coincidence that Fenerbahçe has not been champion for 10 years? I claim that Fenerbahçe cannot become champion while Ali Koç is the president of this club."
Fenerbahçe Sports Club President Ali Koç answered questions from Mehmet Akif Ersoy on Habertürk following the Super Cup crisis in Saudi Arabia.
Stating that he does not intend to run as a candidate in the ordinary elective general assembly in June 2024, Ali Koç made striking remarks.
"FENERBAHÇE CANNOT BE CHAMPION WHILE I AM HERE"
Speaking about the team's sporting success, Koç said, "Do you think it is a coincidence that Fenerbahçe has not been champion for 10 years? I claim that Fenerbahçe cannot become champion while Ali Koç is the president of this club."
"I WILL NOT BE A CANDIDATE"
On the other hand, speaking about his candidacy, Koç said, "I do not plan to be a candidate. God willing, when that day comes. My desire right now is not to continue as president at the end of my second term. But I have learned never to say never. Our bus was shot at. It is still an unsolved case. We were so battered and damaged materially and morally on July 3rd that, years later, it emerged what happened, and no one is making amends with us. The Fenerbahçe community is the club, the community that first stood tall and acted as a wall against this terrorist organization under the leadership of President Aziz. We have not been champions for 10 years."
