According to a report by İrfan Yirmibeş from Sözcü, club president Ali Koç wants to bring the Canadian striker to the team as soon as possible to meet the fans' expectations.

Fenerbahçe President Ali Koç has instructed the new sporting director, Devin Özek, to finalize the transfer of Jonathan David. Özek held another meeting with the player's agent, Nick Mavromaras. During the talks, an agreement was reached on an annual salary of 9 million Euros, while negotiations regarding the signing bonus are ongoing. The Yellow-Navy Blues are trying to lower the requested 15 million Euros, and the transfer is expected to be completed shortly.
