Ali Koç re-elected as Fenerbahçe President

The historic congress at Fenerbahçe has come to an end... Fenerbahçe Club held its historic general assembly where Ali Koç and Aziz Yıldırım competed for the presidency.

Incumbent president Ali Koç cast his vote at ballot box number 27, while former president Aziz Yıldırım cast his at box number 46. The counting of the votes then began.

Members who arrived at the Ülker Stadium early in the morning for the general assembly meeting formed long queues, waiting for the doors to open.

In the election where incumbent president Ali Koç and former president Aziz Yıldırım competed, 46 thousand 410 members were eligible to vote.

According to unofficial results, Ali Koç was re-elected as president. Aziz Yıldırım, who joined Koç on stage, congratulated him, saying: "Dear Fenerbahçe fans, we held a congress worthy of Fenerbahçe. I thank you all. My friends and I have done our duty. I hope Ali Koç and his colleagues will make Fenerbahçe champions. I love you all. I offer my love and respect. We will also provide whatever support we can."

Ali Koç, who was re-elected as president of Fenerbahçe, took the podium to address the community.

Koç stated the following: "We have completed a beautiful, democratic, at times exciting, and at times tense congress. Today, approximately 28 thousand congress members cast their votes. This is a source of happiness and a new record for Fenerbahçe democracy. We have shown the greatness of Fenerbahçe at the congress as well. You are the ones who decide the future of Fenerbahçe.

May the results be auspicious for us all. On behalf of myself and the board of directors, we thank Aziz Yıldırım and his team, whom I competed against in the congress, and you, who turned this into a festival of democracy. The Fenerbahçe era begins from today.

I hope that starting tomorrow, a period begins where we will be satisfied with successes, where fans who are not Fenerbahçe supporters will watch Fenerbahçe, where our fan base will grow, our brand value will develop, and we will achieve national and international success. We are entering a period where our rivals will be intimidated when they hear the name Fenerbahçe. No one is bigger than Fenerbahçe."

"EVERYONE SHOULD BE READY FOR THE FENERBAHÇE DOWNPOUR"

Stating that they will turn a brand new page, President Koç said: "It is time to show the greatness of Fenerbahçe to the whole world. Let us be a part of this new era starting tomorrow. We are here today to embrace all the colors of this community. We possess a level of friendship that no other club has, and we will now hold onto it tightly. We have made certain commitments to you regarding the team we will build on the path to the championship.

I hope that the resentments we will permanently resolve will end; let us close the past and turn a brand new page for the future. Have no doubt that for everyone who takes a step on this path sincerely, without thinking or calculating, we will take 10 steps.

We will do our best under these sacred colors. There are some who are not satisfied with this evening's results; it is time for change. Let us build a stronger Fenerbahçe. We are working for a new era and a new beginning for Fenerbahçe.

I promise on behalf of myself and my board of directors. We will keep the interests of Fenerbahçe above everything else. We will face all kinds of difficulties, we will take all kinds of risks.
