Ali Koç responds to Dursun Özbek: 'Completely a figment of his imagination'

Fenerbahçe President Ali Koç has responded to Dursun Özbek, who made statements in recent days.

The statement made by Fenerbahçe is as follows:

"It has become necessary to provide this information following the statement made yesterday by Galatasaray Sports Club President Mr. Dursun Özbek. Regarding the dialogue he claimed to have had with me in the relevant statement, where he said; 'As the grandson of Dursun Özbek from Alucra, I will go on television with you, but I must set the agenda. Let's go out there and, as the grandson of Dursun Özbek from Alucra and the grandson of Vehbi Koç, explain to the Turkish youth the equality of opportunity that the republic has provided us. He did not accept.' No such dialogue has ever taken place with Dursun Özbek; this is entirely a product of his own imagination. We have received no response or feedback from him regarding our official invitation for a 'face-to-face discussion on live broadcast,' which we have extended exactly five times. This latest dialogue he mentions also has no basis in reality and is an event that absolutely never occurred. To date, I have never had any one-on-one meetings or conversations with Mr. Özbek, and other people have always been present during our interactions. Therefore, my request to him is to clearly explain all the details he can provide regarding this dialogue he claims took place, including the date, location, and people present. Unfortunately, it is seen in many examples that misleading the entire public over something that does not exist and presenting something that never happened as if it were real has become a habit for him. This latest claim of his is also a complete lie. Furthermore, on the occasion of this agenda he has created himself; I would like to state that I accept his invitation for a broadcast at the time he wants, on the channel he wants, and with the people he wants, in order to evaluate everything the public is curious about, including the topics he himself wants to discuss, to debate openly and bravely, and to enlighten the public. I hope that there will be no backing down on this matter, as has been the case in past examples."
