Ali Koç to Abdulkadir Selvi: You are the man who cried tears and snot for FETÖ

Hürriyet columnist Abdulkadir Selvi, known for his proximity to the government, attempted to associate Fenerbahçe with FETÖ in an article he penned following the Super Cup crisis in Saudi Arabia.

In his article titled 'Organized like a Koç', Selvi wrote: "Atatürk has very beautiful quotes about sports; such as 'I like the intelligent, agile, and at the same time moral athlete.' He has a short maxim that says, 'Sport is morality.' The saying 'A sound mind is in a sound body' is very well known. Was the only thing that could be found for the match to be played in Saudi Arabia the phrase 'Peace at home, peace in the world,' which was used by FETÖ members during the July 15 coup attempt?"

While the repercussions of the Super Cup crisis continue, Fenerbahçe Sports Club President Ali Koç answered questions from Mehmet Akif Ersoy on Habertürk last night (January 5).

Reacting to Selvi's article, Ali Koç stated: "They are linking our 'Peace at Home, Peace in the World' banner to FETÖ; you are the man who once cried tears and snot for FETÖ, who are you to associate Fenerbahçe with FETÖ?"

Just as in the official statement made by Fenerbahçe, Ali Koç also recalled the article titled "Teacher, return to Turkey now," which Abdulkadir Selvi wrote in the Yeni Şafak newspaper in 2013.
