TRIAL REGARDING SÜPER LİG PERIOD CONTINUES

During the ongoing trial process concerning the period when the club was promoted to and competed in the Süper Lig, Giresunspor experienced a major decline in sporting terms. The green-and-white team dropped from the Süper Lig to the TFF 1st League, and subsequently to the TFF 2nd League and TFF 3rd League. The Black Sea representative was relegated from the TFF 3rd League this season as well, falling to the Regional Amateur League.

ARREST WARRANT FOR KARAAHMET

In the hearing that began at 14:00 at the Giresun Courthouse, numerous defendants who previously served as executives at the club gave their statements. While the defenses of the defendants present at the hearing were taken, 3 witnesses who were stated to have served at the club during the period in question were also heard by the court panel.

Announcing its interim decision, the court panel ruled for the compulsory appearance of the defendants who had not yet been heard. An arrest warrant was issued for former Giresunspor President Hakan Karaahmet, who previously had a compulsory appearance order against him but was stated to be abroad.

It was learned that Karaahmet had requested a rogatory commission from the court to provide his statement through the consulate in the USA, where he is currently located. Despite this, the court panel decided to issue an arrest warrant.

The hearing was adjourned until July 10.
