Aykut Kocaman rebels, saying 'I am extremely uncomfortable with this'

Aykut Kocaman, one of the legendary figures of Fenerbahçe, emphasized that the polarization within the community must end in a statement he made after casting his vote in the presidential election. Aykut Kocaman rebels, saying 'I am extremely uncomfortable with this'

Aykut Kocaman, the former manager of Fenerbahçe and one of the club's iconic figures, went to the polls to cast his vote during the club's presidential elections. Responding to questions from members of the press after the congress, Kocaman underlined that the presidential candidates and the community must stand together.

"I wish for this to be beneficial for Fenerbahçe. I hope it serves as a preliminary step toward good results. I hope it will be a good election. Both candidates have their promises. The overarching identity is being a Fenerbahçe supporter. Whoever wins, they will serve Fenerbahçe. There has been serious polarization recently. From the moment it ends, everyone will be fighting under the same roof. We must not forget this."

Regarding another topic frequently covered in the press, when asked, "Will you have a response to Aziz Yıldırım's statements about you?", he kept it brief, saying, "I have nothing to say on this matter."

Aykut Kocaman continued his speech as follows:

"We made almost the same speech around this time last year. We said the same things. This is a presidential election. Presidents and boards are the most important organs in clubs. Their decisions and behaviors pave the way for or block the manager and the players. New players are talked about in every transfer window. Players arrive every year, but in an environment of inefficiency, I will put it in quotes, they become 'trash'. The most important problem for Fenerbahçe in the recent period—I cannot say the same for other branches—has been the inability of those managing football to increase efficiency. I hope it will be favorable this time. I am not the subject here. The two presidential candidates are the subjects. I believe they will make the right effort. Even though I have not dealt with anything and have had no contact with anyone in the last 7-8 years, I have been included in this division. I am extremely uncomfortable with this."
