Aziz Yıldırım has denied claims that he will be a candidate in the upcoming Fenerbahçe presidential elections.
Aziz Yıldırım has responded to claims that he will be a candidate in the upcoming Fenerbahçe presidential elections.
The former Fenerbahçe president made the following statement in a written declaration regarding the matter:
"All the claims put forward today regarding myself, suggesting that I have decided to intervene in the Fenerbahçe presidential election and that I have met with some individuals on Saadettin Saran's list, are lies.
I currently have no plans regarding the Fenerbahçe presidency, nor have I been in contact with anyone on Saadettin Saran's list.
Only one person who plans to be on Saran's list wanted to hear my views, and I shared my thoughts with him in the presence of a few others.
Fenerbahçe does not have a presidential problem at the moment. On the contrary, it needs calm.
These types of fake news stories are being used to gain traction using my name. If I am involved in any planning, I will share it with the public myself.
I request that no credence be given to such fake news stories made outside of the information provided by myself."
