Bad news has arrived from former player Anthony Nwakaeme for Trabzonspor, which is looking to strengthen its squad during the winter transfer window. The Bordeaux-Blues had reached a 1+1 year agreement with the 34-year-old Nigerian left-winger but had asked him to secure his release from Al-Fayha. Al-Fayha Sporting Director Fahad Alnasri stated in a statement yesterday that this deal has become difficult. Alnasri said, "Nwakaeme has overcome his injury. His transfer to Trabzonspor is being discussed, but we are not open to him leaving in January. We have high expectations of him."
NWAKAEME'S TRABZONSPOR CAREER
The 34-year-old Nigerian footballer, who played a total of 145 matches in his Trabzonspor career, scored 47 goals and provided 40 assists in those matches. Nwakaeme won 1 Süper Lig title, 1 Turkish Cup, and 1 TFF Super Cup while wearing the Trabzonspor jersey. The Nigerian star transferred to the Saudi Arabian league team Al-Fayha at the beginning of the 2022-23 season.
