Although Başakşehir started the match at Başakşehir Fatih Terim Stadium with significant pressure and created serious threats in the opponent's goal, the first half ended in a 0-0 stalemate.
The orange-navy blues took a 1-0 lead in the 64th minute with a goal from Ömer Ali Şahiner.

St. Patrick's Athletic's Aaron Bolger, who entered the game in the 79th minute, was shown a straight red card just 2 minutes later following a harsh challenge on Başakşehir's Olivier Kemen, leaving his team with 10 men.
Olivier Kemen, who had been on the receiving end of the harsh foul, scored the goal that eased the pressure for Başakşehir with a header in the 82nd minute, putting his team 2-0 ahead.

There were no further goals in the remainder of the match, and Başakşehir left the pitch with a 2-0 victory.
With this result, Başakşehir has successfully qualified for the league phase of the UEFA Conference League.
