Benfica wins in 'Champions League' with goals from Kerem and Orkun

In the first week of the UEFA Champions League, Portuguese side Benfica defeated Red Star Belgrade 2-1 away, with goals scored by national players Kerem Aktürkoğlu and Orkun Kökçü.

Benfica wins in 'Champions League' with goals from Kerem and Orkun

Kerem Aktürkoğlu put Benfica ahead 1-0 in the 9th minute of the match played at Rajko Mitić Stadium in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. Kerem celebrated a goal in his second match for the Portuguese representative.

In the 29th minute of the match, it was Orkun Kökçü's turn to shine. The national player sent the ball into the net with a free kick from approximately 25 meters out, making the score 2-0.

Red Star reduced the deficit to 1 with a goal from Felicio Milson in the 86th minute. There were no more goals in the remaining time, and Benfica left the match with a 2-1 victory, starting the premier European club football competition with a win.

Kerem Aktürkoğlu and Orkun Kökçü became the first Turkish teammates to score in the UEFA Champions League while playing for a foreign club. Kerem has now found the net for the 3rd time in the "Champions League," while Orkun recorded his first goal.

BAYER LEVERKUSEN WINS BIG IN THE NETHERLANDS

In the other match of the day that started at the same time, German side Bayer Leverkusen defeated Dutch representative Feyenoord 4-0 away.

The German side secured a comfortable victory with goals from Florian Wirtz in the 5th and 36th minutes, Alejandro Grimaldo in the 30th minute, and an own goal by Timon Wellenreuther in the 45th minute.
