Election call to the TFF from Beşiktaş! 'We want an election immediately'

Beşiktaş Club emphasized in a statement that an election must be held immediately to ensure the selection of an administration that represents justice and trust in Turkish football. The club pointed to the importance of the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) going to elections as soon as possible.

The statement from Beşiktaş is as follows:

"As Beşiktaş JK, we want an election immediately, right now, for an administration that is equidistant to everyone and whose only concern is to represent justice and provide confidence in Turkish football.

Since the first day we took office as an administration, we have never changed our opinion. We have never taken a step back. As Beşiktaş Club, we have requested that the Turkish Football Federation and its affiliated institutions resign and that a new, democratic administration be determined along with its boards.

The entire football public sees that 'Turkish football is not being managed as it deserves' and that 'Turkish football is in deep chaos.' A period where it has lost such reputation and value has never been experienced in the past.

To get rid of this chaos, it is necessary to speak 'without ifs,' 'without buts,' and 'without ulterior motives' and to take quick action. The only concern for all of us should be the future of football.

While everything is crystal clear, we see with regret that those who call for the TFF to resign are still accusing those who say 'let's not waste time' of making calculated moves.

We can never be on the same page as those who say, 'What difference does it make if it happens 20 days earlier or later?'

Every day spent in chaos causes new problems and risks to emerge.

While the decision to hold an election is a correct decision taken late, the date is definitely wrong. We have no tolerance left for unnecessary loss of time. The election date poses a risk for the future of the next season. We have already experienced a great loss of time. Let us not waste the coming year with this inefficient system where everyone is harmed. Work regarding the new season should be carried out by the new administration and the boards to be elected, and it should not be a continuation of the current administration. More time and room for maneuver should be created for the new administration.

We interpret Mr. Dursun Özbek's statement, 'Are those who want the election to be held as soon as possible in a hurry because their new management list is ready?' as extremely unfortunate, far from contributing to Turkish football, and even aimed at deepening this chaotic environment we are experiencing.

Our stance has always been clear. As Beşiktaş, we want the administration and its boards to be determined by election, not by appointment, and for the elections to be held with multiple candidates.

Our concern is the establishment of a Turkish football that is fair, competitive, developing, productive, and respected in the international arena."
