Beşiktaş's debt announced

It has been announced that Beşiktaş Club's debt is 6 billion 696 million 974 thousand 534 Turkish Lira.

Speaking at the 2nd Ordinary Divan Board Meeting of 2023 held at the BJK Akatlar Sports Complex, Audit Board Member Özgür Şentürk informed the members regarding financial matters.

Şentürk noted that the black-and-white club's debt as of May 31, 2023, was 6 billion 696 million 974 thousand 534 Turkish Lira.

Audit Board Chairman Gökhan Tiryaki, in his speech prior to the announcement of the debt, stated that the black-and-white club's debt is manageable and said the following:

“Beşiktaş needs change. We see that the financial statement cannot be sustained with traditional management methods and traditional revenues. At the last Divan Board meeting, we had stated that the debt was manageable. We have a gross debt of 6.9 billion and a net debt of 6.7 billion TL. Half of this consists of financial debts. In this planning, we first needed to manage and control the debt; we have completed the first stage. For Beşiktaş to be financially successful, we need to increase our revenues to ensure financial sustainability, which is the most fundamental criterion for sustainable success. As Beşiktaş fans, we need to stop the infighting now. As long as we are divided, we cannot compete externally. Beşiktaş's goal should not just be winning trophies in Turkey. Beşiktaş must also target trophies in Europe. 60 percent of the revenues in Turkish sports are now fixed. Commercial revenues, however, are under your control. Beşiktaş has a debt of around 240 million euros. In 2017, Beşiktaş generated 220 million euros in revenue. Beşiktaş's potential revenue is equal to its current debt. We can utilize our potential.”
