Beşiktaş's domestic managerial candidate identified
As Beşiktaş continues its search for a new manager, Nuri Şahin is the only name on the club's domestic candidate list should they fail to reach an agreement with foreign options.
Beşiktaş, which is continuing its search for a manager, has not received positive feedback from the names it has contacted abroad. With Şenol Güneş not being considered in the first instance, the black-and-white club's list for a foreign manager is topped by Sergio Conceiçao and Carlos Vicens from the Portuguese school. If negotiations with foreign candidates do not yield results due to the difficulty of the terms, the club may turn its route to a domestic alternative, and Nuri Şahin is on the agenda as the first and only option in this regard.
Serdal Adalı and the majority of the board of directors are pursuing the goal of bringing a foreign manager to the club. However, if the desired agreements cannot be reached, they will sit down with Başakşehir President Göksel Gümüşdağ and begin official initiatives for Nuri Şahin.
PAST TENSION BETWEEN SERGEN YALÇIN AND NURİ ŞAHİN
There were verbal exchanges between Nuri Şahin, who once worked as a coach at Borussia Dortmund, and Sergen Yalçın during his time as a football commentator. Sergen Yalçın had criticized Şahin in harsh language, saying, "Is it that easy to become a coach at Dortmund? Work in Antalya for two years, do nothing. There is no success. Then become a coach at Dortmund. How does this happen?"
Responding to these comments, Nuri Şahin stated, "I laughed a lot at what he said. I think it's funny. It wouldn't suit me to get into these things. It's already being done for ratings anyway. Saying 'let me bash this person or that person so it gets talked about'."

Subsequently, Sergen Yalçın took the polemic a step further, responding, "It is very absurd for Nuri Şahin to give such answers. My brother Nuri, I have epaulets, what do you have? Where is your success? You stay like that, I'll shove the words back in your mouth. Let them be successful and win trophies first, then we can talk to each other. We are not at the same level. Why would I bash Nuri Şahin for ratings? Does he have ratings? Your coaching level is not at the point to talk to me."
Finally, in the match where the two faced each other in their managerial careers, Beşiktaş, managed by Sergen Yalçın, defeated Başakşehir, coached by Nuri Şahin, 3-2. Addressing the past arguments at the end of the match, Şahin used the following expressions:
"I am striving for the beauty of Turkish football. I am striving for my team to be good. These are areas that are not my field at all. It didn't motivate me even one percent. I prepared against a big team like Beşiktaş. I am after the beauty of football. I want everyone to talk about Turkish football and the Turkish League. I work morning and night for Başakşehir to be successful."
