Referee reaction from Beşiktaş: We do not want to see them in our matches

Beşiktaş has issued a statement following the 1-0 loss in the Galatasaray derby. The Black and White team expressed their reaction to the derby's referees, Halil Umut Meler and Koray Gençerler.

Here is the statement from Beşiktaş:

"We are Beşiktaş. We are the heirs to an epic where nobility, honor, and the fighting spirit have never faded for 121 years, where we have always played with our honor and won with our merit. What is essential for us is our honorable stance, which comes from our past and never bows.

We watched with astonishment the low-level attitude of those who have been saying 'We stand behind our Federation' for months, only to call for 'resignation' when it did not suit them, following the derby match. The entire public has also watched with dismay how the TFF Disciplinary Board can be convened at any hour and forced to make decisions as desired. These double standards create great concern for the future of Turkish football and are of a nature that will allow for very serious social wounds.

WE ARE CALLING OUT TO RIVA FROM BEŞİKTAŞ

The scandalous decisions made yesterday by Halil Umut Meler, whose name is mentioned in all the chaos in our football and who is persistently appointed to Beşiktaş's critical matches, which changed the flow of the game, are errors of such gravity that they eliminate trust in the justice of football.

In the derby, the failure to conduct a VAR review for Cenk Tosun's penalty position, the decision being turned into a red card in Omar Colley's position by a VAR that was blind during the week but became sharp-eyed in this match, and the turning of a blind eye to the systematic slowing down of the game are scandalous decisions that have become customary in Turkish football but should never be accepted.

We also do not forget Koray Gençerler, who consciously butchers our team in every match with his attitude at the VAR desk!

As the Beşiktaş community, we no longer want to see Halil Umut Meler and Koray Gençerler in our matches.

It is evident that championships obtained through desk-side games in Turkish football, where a fair competitive order is not established, bring no results other than experiences that end in disappointment in international matches, and it is an inevitable necessity that a comprehensive and modern restructuring of our football with all its bodies be carried out without further delay.

We see great benefit in the TFF, which has taken no measures despite all our warnings and contacts, going to elections urgently to lead Turkish football out of this chaos.

We believe that the Football Federation and its boards that will take office will take Turkish football to much better places."
