Beşiktaş statement regarding the 2010-11 season Super Cup

The statement issued by the black-and-white club included the following:

"We are Beşiktaş! For 121 years, we have played with honor and won with our rights. There is not a single illicit trophy in our museum. As Beşiktaş JK, we have a proud history of maintaining distance from politics and managing to remain equidistant to all political parties.

We will not grant an opportunity to those who attempt to drag our club into dangerous polemics for the sake of their political ambitions. The allegations made against our club have no material or legal basis.

We would like to state, due to its importance, that those who caused this rhetoric are paying the price for their conspiracy by being tried as defendants before the supreme Turkish judiciary.

"WE WILL FIGHT WITH HONOR"

The public will learn in all its clarity about those who wish to stain our glorious history with the sentences they will receive as a result of this trial. In fact, making allegations by using our club as a tool for politics is a crime, and all kinds of legal and criminal avenues will be pursued due to these unfair and unlawful allegations.

We would like to state once again that it is Beşiktaş's right to play the 2010-2011 season Super Cup final match, which we have been waiting for for years. Everyone should know that we will take the field to win that trophy and, as always, we will fight with our honor."
