BREAKING NEWS... Fenerbahçe is heading to elections: Extraordinary General Assembly announcement from Ali Koç
Fenerbahçe Club President Ali Koç has made statements. President Ali Koç announced that the club will hold an extraordinary general assembly in September.
Fenerbahçe Club President Ali Koç made statements on the club's television channel. Ali Koç announced that the club has decided to hold an Extraordinary General Assembly in September.
Koç also stated regarding the signature collection efforts, 'If the signatures are collected, the earliest date for an election is 7-8 weeks away.'
Here are the highlights from Koç's statements:
"We are leaving behind a period in which we could not reach our desired goal. The responsibility for this belongs to us. However, it should not be forgotten that having only one championship in 14 years shows that the problem is not limited to just names and administrations."
First of all, as I stated in the broadcast I attended on TRT Spor, I emphasize that an election held in the summer months is not in line with the interests of our community. In the history of our community, taking the club to an extraordinary general assembly by collecting signatures has never happened before. Going to an election by collecting signatures will open wounds that cannot be healed.
We know very well that among those who signed, there are members who are truly, unconditionally, and passionately attached to Fenerbahçe. On the other hand, I want our community to know that there are those who disregard our values and think of their own interests before Fenerbahçe. If the signatures are collected, the earliest time to go to an election is 7-8 weeks. This period does not coincide with the very beginning of the new season. As a result of the evaluations we made with our friends on the board of directors, we will hold the extraordinary general assembly in September."
Dragging our club into a possible election process through the signature method will open irreparable wounds in the future. We have taken into account the sincere and constructive criticisms of our community, and as I just stated, I respect the demands that have come to the agenda recently. I am sure that you will respect this decision we have taken in line with the interests of our community. May this decision be auspicious for our community. I have addressed you with the feeling of being a Fenerbahçe fan who is proud of its past, faces its present, and takes ownership of its future. I have leaned my heart, not my back, on this community. Hopefully, with God's permission, I will continue to walk on this path despite all the difficulties, slanders, character assassinations, and injustices."
