Speaking to Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, Sarıalioğlu stated that the reports in question do not reflect the truth, saying, "We have no knowledge of such a development. The claims being made are not true; such a situation is not even possible."

Reports in the African press had suggested that world-famous striker Victor Osimhen was preparing to purchase İstanbulspor. Specifically, in a report sourced from Afrik Foot, it was alleged that this initiative was not merely aimed at club ownership.
In the report in question, it was claimed that Osimhen plans to establish a comprehensive football network between Nigeria and Turkey. Within this scope, it was suggested that a football academy would be opened in Nigeria and that young talents would be discovered at an early age and put through special training programs.
