Controversial decision from TRT: Channel for Fenerbahçe-Ferencvaros match changed

Fenerbahçe, having found good form with consecutive victories in the Süper Lig, will take the field this evening for its fifth match in the UEFA Europa League.

The broadcaster TRT announced a change to the broadcast schedule for the match between Fenerbahçe and Ferencvaros, which is set to kick off at 20:45, stating that the game will be aired on TRT Spor instead of TRT 1.

BASKETBALL MATCH TO BE AIRED ON TRT

TRT, which has been broadcasting the European matches of both Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray on TRT 1 this season, cited the A National Basketball Team match taking place this evening as the reason for the change.

The match of the "12 Giant Men," who will face Bosnia and Herzegovina at 21:00 as part of the World Cup European Qualifiers, will be broadcast on TRT 1.

FENERBAHÇE FANS REACT TO THE DECISION

TRT's decision to change the channel drew reactions from yellow-and-navy fans on social media. Fenerbahçe supporters pointed out that European matches involving Turkish teams are traditionally broadcast on TRT 1 and argued that this practice should have continued for this match as well.

Furthermore, among the complaints, it was noted that while TRT 1 can be watched without issues, particularly in rural areas, technical difficulties are sometimes encountered when accessing TRT Spor.

ERGİN ATAMAN'S WORDS BROUGHT BACK TO THE AGENDA

TRT's decision to broadcast the A National Basketball Team match on its main channel brought the statements made by National Team head coach Ergin Ataman in recent months back to the agenda.

Ataman had reacted to the matches being shown on TRT Spor and TRT Spor Yıldız from time to time during the EuroBasket period and had used the following expressions:

'I suppose you also felt that this match would be easy, and you pushed us from TRT Spor to TRT Spor Yıldız. Still, this team is heading toward the final. I hope we head toward TRT 1.'
