Diagne's Senegal flag causes a crisis for the second time! This time, police went to his home

Diyarbakır representative Amedspor, which secured its place among the teams promoted to the Süper Lig, made headlines with an interesting incident during the celebrations. Police teams were alerted after the team's star striker, Mbaye Diagne, hung his country's flag on the balcony of his home.

Amedspor President Nahit Eren recounted the events while appearing as a guest on the Tele2 Haber YouTube channel. Eren explained that Diagne unfurling the Senegalese flag during the celebrations was misunderstood by some individuals, which led to police teams being sent to the footballer's home.

President Eren described the events as follows:

"Diagne had experienced trouble because he unfurled a flag; I wasn't aware of the issue on the field. Today, police also went to his home because of the flag Diagne hung on his own balcony. He is also surprised. I don't know if someone reported it. The police go, and when they see it is Diagne's house and the Senegalese flag, they naturally turn back."

The Amedspor President stated that Diagne's family had also unfurled the Senegalese flag at the stadium last week, and that they had discussed this situation jokingly among the management. "In the jokes we made among ourselves with managers and staff, we had said, 'You might be taken into custody by the counter-terrorism unit at any moment.' Unfortunately, these things happened, but as I said, these types of incidents occurred due to a lack of information and perhaps not recognizing the Senegalese flag," he said.

Furthermore, Eren expressed that following Amedspor's success, AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli conveyed their congratulatory messages, and that he also spoke with Bahçeli over the phone. Stating that leaders and representatives of various political parties in Turkey also called to congratulate him, Eren noted that they were pleased with this interest.
