In the Fenerbahçe – Rangers match, the Scottish side took a 1-0 lead in the 6th minute with a goal by Dessers. However, those watching on television could hardly believe how little of the ball had crossed the line.
An interesting incident occurred during the first leg of the Europa League Round of 16 match between Fenerbahçe and Rangers. In the 6th minute of the match, Çağlar cleared Dessers' shot off the line at the last moment. However, the referee pointed to the watch on his wrist, signaling that the ball had crossed the line and that Dessers had scored. Because the watch on the referee's wrist gave a 'Goal' alert, the center spot was indicated. And thus, Rangers took a 1-0 lead.
In the following minutes, goal-line technology showed how much of the ball had crossed the line. It was understood that Fenerbahçe had conceded the goal by only a matter of millimeters.
