Double signing at Galatasaray: Massive raises for Okan Buruk and Barış Alper Yılmaz

Galatasaray Club President Dursun Özbek has renewed contracts with head coach Okan Buruk and player Barış Alper Yılmaz.

OKAN BURUK'S CONTRACT EXTENDED UNTIL 2027

The contract of Okan Buruk, who faced criticism following the Alanyaspor and Frankfurt matches, has been extended until May 2027 with a new 1+1 year agreement.

According to a report by Ali Naci Küçük from Türkiye newspaper, the head coach's annual salary of 120 million TL has been increased to the level of 4 million euros. This amount equals approximately 200 million TL at the current exchange rate.

BARIŞ ALPER YILMAZ'S SALARY INCREASED

Galatasaray has also reached a new agreement with Barış Alper Yılmaz, who received transfer offers at the beginning of the season. While the player's contract, which runs until 2028, remains unchanged, his salary has been improved.

Barış Alper, who was earning 3 million euros (approximately 100 million TL) as of June 2024, has had his new salary set at 150 million TL.

PERFORMANCE BONUSES

According to the contract details, a certain portion of the salary will be tied to performance criteria. Depending on the number of matches played and success bonuses, Barış Alper Yılmaz could earn up to 200 million TL, or approximately 4 million euros, this season.
