Dursun Özbek gives good news to Galatasaray fans

Galatasaray Club founder Ali Sami Yen was commemorated at Feriköy Cemetery on the 74th anniversary of his death.

The ceremony was attended by Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek, Board of Trustees President Aykutalp Derkan, and members of the board of directors. The commemoration concluded with prayers recited at Ali Sami Yen's graveside. Özbek and his entourage also visited the grave of legendary Beşiktaş president Süleyman Seba.

Speaking to the press after the ceremony, Dursun Özbek stated that Galatasaray is at an important turning point in its history. "We are experiencing a first in Galatasaray's history. After a long time, this is a first. We are entering the new season with zero debt. The players have no outstanding receivables, there is no tax debt, and we have no debt to any institution. This is a milestone for Galatasaray," he said.

Mentioning the projects they have been carrying out as an administration since 2022, Özbek said, "We have completed some of our projects. There is still much work to be done. From now on, together with my colleagues, we will continue to serve Galatasaray and Turkish football. We have reached a very good point. Our goal from now on is to hand over Galatasaray to future generations in the best possible way."

Emphasizing that they want to increase the brand value of Turkish football, Özbek stated, "All clubs will serve the same purpose this season. I hope we compete in friendship and love. I hope we watch a beautiful league where justice prevails. May our new season be auspicious. I hope our teams show the same success in Europe as well."
