Dursun Özbek's jab at Fenerbahçe: 'Let it be heard from Kadıköy'

Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek spoke at the Galatasaray Sports Club Annual Ordinary General Assembly Meeting. President Özbek stated that the Riva project has provided a benefit of 170 million Dollars so far and that it will bring an additional return of 2-2.5 billion TL.

"OUR EXPECTATION FROM HERE HAS REACHED AROUND 2 BILLION TL"

Explaining the revenue obtained from the Mecidiyeköy project, Özbek said, "A cash stock was formed within the framework of the sales made to date. When purchasing the land in Florya, we made the following commitment to the bank that would provide the credit; we said we would pay it off with sales from the residences in Mecidiyeköy within an 18-month period. They asked for my signature and my brother Erden's signature as collateral. We didn't think twice, we both gave this signature. Last week, 898 million TL was paid from the cash portion of the sales made here as payment for the loan used to purchase the Florya land. We completed the remainder from our own treasury and paid the entire 1 billion 85 million TL last week. After the current sales, we have 486 million TL in checks and promissory notes in our treasury. 898 million TL has been paid. We also have 846 million TL worth of apartments available for sale here. It is heading towards sales of over 2 billion TL. The payment includes a share from the capital increase we made, which is approximately 200 million TL. We were expecting a revenue of 1.5 billion TL from this project. Our expectation from here has reached around 2 billion TL. I would like to thank those who contributed. This is the greatest proof that Galatasaray will be successful when it is united and works in a climate of peace."

"WE ARE WORKING TO FINISH THE CONSTRUCTION OF KEMERBURGAZ IN A SHORT TIME"

Stating that the work at the Kemerburgaz Facilities is ongoing, President Özbek said, "We held an event, we held the board meeting there. Kemerburgaz is the new cradle of football. Our campus there is approximately 15 thousand square meters. The future of Florya is here. Kemerburgaz is a land with a surface right of approximately 130 decares. We are working to finish the construction in a short time. Our campus in Florya is 4 thousand 500 square meters. Kemerburgaz is a total of 14 thousand 500 square meters. After we move there, the Florya project will begin. We will have 6 football fields in the Kemerburgaz project, there will be 2 in the first phase."

"A PROJECT THAT WILL DESIGN GALATASARAY'S NEXT 25 YEARS"

Emphasizing that they carried out the Florya land project with future administrations in mind, Dursun Özbek said, "The Florya land is 62 decares in total. 20 decares were property with a Galatasaray title deed. We bought 40 decares from Emlak Konut. Why did we buy it? Incoming administrations need to prepare for future generations and create value. Our Florya facilities did not suit Galatasaray due to the changing football economy. The Florya land is a plot of land that has remained within a residential area. It was necessary to carry out a project that would reveal this economy. The project on 60 decares is ready. We will get the license and start construction after moving to Kemerburgaz. It is a project that will design Galatasaray's next 25 years. We want to create a fund with the proceeds of this land. I think it will provide convenience to the friends who will manage Galatasaray in the coming periods."

Mentioning the successes of the football team, Özbek said, "Our football team, which finished last year as champions, continues to make us proud. This year, we are in the Champions League, where we always belong. We made a good start. I believe that this will continue. In a way that can be heard from the other side of Istanbul, I want a loud applause for our dear coach Okan, his technical team, and our players for giving us these beautiful days; let it be heard from Kadıköy. We are Galatasaray, our dreams have no limits. We will move towards the goal set by our founder Ali Sami Yen and his friends and we will defeat non-Turkish teams one by one."

Stating that there are those who try to prevent Galatasaray's success, President Özbek said, "While we are trying to realize all our projects, bring our club to success, and raise the brand value of Turkish sports, let no one think that we do not see what is happening around us. Today, Galatasaray's rising success has made some people very uncomfortable. They are trying to prevent this success of Galatasaray with the dirty coalition they have formed. They do not hesitate to harm Turkish football to achieve this. They have intense efforts to constantly pull us off the field. We will fight them, let no one worry. No one can stand in front of you, in front of us. We have seen this many times. Your support and the support given by our fans is Galatasaray's greatest strength."

Dursun Özbek also informed the members about the work the club has done after the earthquake disaster on February 6, the Büyükçekmece land, Kalamış facilities, Galatasaray Island, the sports hall project, the latest situation in amateur branches, and the Banks Association agreement.
