Emre Belözoğlu sets his sights on Europe!

The yellow-navy team continues its preparations at the Beştepe Facilities for the match against İstanbulspor in the 9th week of the Trendyol Süper Lig, where manager Belözoğlu made statements to members of the press.

Explaining that he has seen everyone's support since the first day he arrived in Ankara, Belözoğlu said, "We had a good start. We had the opportunity to work during the international break. There was a managerial change at İstanbulspor, and these changes cause us to change our plans as well. They will want to play a new style of game. We have prepared well, and we want to continue the momentum we have gained. The expectation of our fans and our management from us is to become a team with a goal. I really enjoy being in Ankara."

Reminding that he had good periods at Fenerbahçe and Başakşehir, Belözoğlu noted the following:

"Winning at the beginning is important. We have only had one victory; we must become a team that makes winning a habit and plays in the front block. We want all teams playing in European competitions to be successful. We did important work with Başakşehir last year. The fact that the 5th team will go to Europe this season was partly due to the points we collected for our country last season. Sivasspor and Fenerbahçe also contributed. Trabzonspor also had a good period. We will do our best to qualify for European competitions. We want to build a team that will play in Europe."

Belözoğlu, who will reach his 100th match in his managerial career with the İstanbulspor game, assessed, "It is valuable in terms of numbers. Emre Belözoğlu also reacted to Israel's attacks on the Palestinian people in Gaza, stating the following:

"Every person with a conscience, regardless of their faith, is disturbed by seeing these images. I am sad about this ongoing process, about being human and not being able to do anything. Jerusalem is our first qibla. I believe that those who oppress, those who are oppressors, will definitely face the consequences in this world. Whether it is a country, a person, or a community, they will definitely get their due. I have never seen a world where oppressors win. There are many examples I have witnessed. I hope we see those days. The Palestinian people deserve freedom; they are a strong people who can more than govern their own lands. Perhaps our country, our state, is the one standing by them loudly. May God be pleased with them. Our ancestors and our valuable elders have always stood by any society in trouble. We are showing an exemplary stance again as a state. I am very sad, but there is a life where the oppressor will one day get their due."

The manager of the yellow-navy team congratulated the A National Team for participating in the 2024 European Football Championship and said, "The national team has a good group of players. Stating that they have met with A National Football Team Manager Vincenzo Montella, Belözoğlu said, "We spoke with him both when he signed and when he guaranteed going to EURO 2024. I congratulated him. I don't want to direct the national team staff, but Bahadır Han Güngördü is showing a very good performance. My greatest desire is to be a team that raises players while competing. First, we will compete, and then we will bring valuable brothers like Bahadır to Turkish football.
