Enthusiastic welcome from fans: The plane carrying Fenerbahçe has landed at Sabiha Gökçen!

Despite reactions from the sports community, the Turkish Football Federation decided that the Super Cup final, marking the 100th anniversary of the Republic, would be played in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.

Before the match, which was scheduled to start at 20:45 yesterday (December 29), Saudi authorities did not permit banners and t-shirts featuring Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. Following this crisis, Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray decided not to take the field.

The Fenerbahçe delegation, which boarded a plane from Riyadh during the night, landed at Sabiha Gökçen Airport.

A group of fans who went to the airport did not leave their team alone.

The group, which included fans of different teams, showed their support for the Fenerbahçe executives and players with chants.

Head coach İsmail Kartal thanked the fans waiting for them for their interest.

The delegation, which included Fenerbahçe Club President Ali Koç, executives, technical staff, and players, left the airport under security measures in private vehicles and the team bus that were waiting for them.

GALATASARAY ALSO RETURNED TO ISTANBUL IN THE MORNING

The Galatasaray Football Team also returned to Istanbul in the morning hours.

The yellow-red delegation, which arrived in Istanbul on a private plane departing from Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, was welcomed by a group of fans at the General Aviation Terminal of Istanbul Airport.

The group, which included fans of different teams, showed their support for the Galatasaray executives and players with chants.

The delegation, which included Galatasaray Club President Dursun Özbek, executives, technical staff, and players, left the airport under security measures in private vehicles and the team bus that were waiting for them.
