Erden Timur makes a highly controversial claim regarding the derby's VAR! He calls for a 'Clean Hands Operation'

Attending the Sports Summit and Fotomaç Süper Lig Best of the Year Awards Ceremony organized by the Turkuvaz Media Group, Galatasaray Deputy Chairman Erden Timur made striking statements regarding the current agenda.

Stating that last night's (December 24) Fenerbahçe – Galatasaray derby did not befit the quality of the league, Timur said, “We watched such a derby because it was a stressful environment.”

"A MISTAKE WAS MADE THAT DIRECTLY IMPACTED THE CHAMPIONSHIP"

Touching upon refereeing errors, Timur used the following expressions: "For months, we have been advocating for moderation and the reduction of tension in Turkish football. We will both be moderate and defend our rights to the end. A mistake was made last night that directly affected the result. There were other mistakes, but this one directly impacted the result. The error made in yesterday's incident is a mistake that directly impacts the championship."

Timur continued his words as follows;

"THEY SAY THE FOOTAGE DID NOT GO TO VAR"

"Since after the derby yesterday and including today, we have been maintaining all official contacts. They say that while different footage existed, the footage did not go to VAR. If such a thing exists, this takes the matter to another level. It is not logical or reasonable for such footage not to be processed and reflected to the referee."

"PHONES SHOULD BE EXAMINED"

"As Galatasaray, we applied in October for investigation commissions to be established and for relations with official authorities to be examined. We invited the TFF to take action for these requests of ours. The communications of executives with the TFF, as well as with social media and media executives, need to be analyzed. Phones, everything should be examined."

"A CLEAN HANDS OPERATION SHOULD BE CONDUCTED IN FOOTBALL"

"On behalf of Turkish football, an environment where the rights of those who shout and scream are defended more is not sustainable. We saw a manifestation of this yesterday. This is being done by suppressing and manipulating public opinion. We said let a 'clean hands' operation be conducted in football. We do not want to experience such things on the pitch. Let a clean hands operation begin now. It is unacceptable for such a mistake to be made in a derby. This matter must be corrected through joint effort. Let us not defend our own rights recklessly; let us defend them on behalf of Turkish football. This clean hands operation must begin without delay, starting tomorrow. This operation should be carried out by examining all of us."
