In the second match of Group E at the 2024 European Football Championship (EURO 2024), Belgium defeated Romania 2-0 to secure their first win.
In the second week of the European Football Championship held in Germany, Belgium and Romania faced off in Group E at the Cologne Stadium in the city of Cologne.
Starting the match quickly under the whistle of Polish referee Szymon Marciniak, Belgium took a 1-0 lead in the 2nd minute with a goal from Youri Tielemans, who met a pass from Romelu Lukaku.

This goal also stood as the score for the first half. In the 63rd minute, a goal scored by Lukaku was disallowed due to offside.
In the 80th minute, Kevin De Bruyne sent the ball into the net in a one-on-one position with the goalkeeper, extending the lead to 2. As there were no further goals in the remaining minutes, Belgium left the pitch with a 2-0 victory. With this result, all teams in Group E have reached 3 points.
Meanwhile, Romanian striker Denis Draguş, who has been signed by Trabzonspor, was replaced by Denis Alibec in the 81st minute.
