Fenerbahçe presidential candidate Aziz Yıldırım made harsh statements about Ali Koç in an interview he gave to Sözcü.

Reacting to Ali Koç, who gathered the general assembly with the agenda of 'withdrawing from the league' after the Trabzonspor match, Yıldırım said, "After the Trabzon match, they gathered 22,000 congress members at the stadium with the expectation of 'We will withdraw from the league.' The members left with a feeling of being deceived. No one was satisfied with the decisions made. A Fenerbahçe President does not fire blanks into the air. If they are going to do something, they do it. They do not bluff about something they will not do. Following this attitude, our athletes and our community lost all their resistance. They could not make a decision because they were afraid of being penalized. They are afraid of being penalized; we went to prison for Fenerbahçe."

Stating that Ali Koç cannot serve as the president of Fenerbahçe, Yıldırım continued his words as follows:

"Because institutional representation requires a stance, determination, and distinction. Since 2011, the goal has been to neutralize our power in the public eye and to conquer us. The July 3 conspiracy was carried out for this reason. He said, 'As long as I am president, they will not let us be champions.' I ask: What has changed? Does he believe that Fenerbahçe will be champion if he becomes president again? He does not have enough resistance and determination to defend Fenerbahçe's rights. He looks like a child who constantly gets beaten at school and then breaks and smashes everything at home!"
