Famous celebrity's brother also involved in betting investigation!

Footballer Rüzgar Derici, who is the brother of İrem Derici, has received a 12-month ban from football as part of a large-scale betting investigation conducted by the Turkish Football Federation (TFF). In the statement made by the TFF, it was noted that sanctions were applied against the athlete in accordance with Article 57/2 of the Football Disciplinary Instructions.

COMPREHENSIVE INVESTIGATION

It was reported that a total of 1,024 footballers were examined in the betting investigation carried out by the TFF, which has caused a major stir in Turkish football. It was announced that 282 of these individuals were referred to the disciplinary board, and following the evaluation, 281 footballers were given bans ranging from 45 days to 12 months.

PENALTY GIVEN TO DERİCİ

In the decision text, it was stated that 20-year-old Rüzgar Derici, who plays for Kırklarelispor, was punished with a 12-month ban for "betting activity." With this sanction, it was stated that the young footballer will not be able to participate in official matches for one year.

OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FROM TFF

The Turkish Football Federation announced the decision taken at its meeting numbered 28, dated 18.11.2025, with the following statement:

“It has been decided that Rüzgar Derici shall be punished with a 12-month ban in accordance with Article 57/2 of the FDT due to betting activity.”
