Fatih Altaylı makes a highly discussed claim regarding the TFF elections: 'That candidate met with Ali Koç...'

Mehmet Büyükekşi, who was appointed President of the Turkish Football Federation in 2022, has been one of the most debated figures in the sports community following the on-field incidents that occurred last season.

Following the tension in the football agenda, an extraordinary election decision was taken at the TFF. All eyes in football have turned to the TFF presidential elections ahead of the new season.

Journalist Fatih Altaylı shared the behind-the-scenes information he obtained regarding the elections on July 18.

In the section of his column today titled "Who are the candidates at the TFF?", Altaylı used the following expressions:

Since President Erdoğan's brother, Mustafa Erdoğan, has been by his side from the beginning, it is said that he is the candidate supported by Erdoğan. His team also includes business people close to Erdoğan. Cemil Kazancı, Tahir Kıran, and Süleyman Hurma are the most prominent among them.

It is known that Mehmet Büyükekşi wants to continue despite his failures, but it is unclear who will be on his team, although it is said that Yusuf Günay from the current administration has been telling those around him that he does not want to remain in the Büyükekşi administration.

However, the Turkish Football Federation presidential candidates are not limited to these two individuals.

One of them is Erdal Alkış. Erdal Alkış, who has been a TFF presidential candidate before and whose closeness to the ruling party is no secret, is known as a Fenerbahçe sympathizer, despite being an executive at the Sarıyer club.

Information reached me that Alkış met with Ali Koç last week and explained his projects during a long meeting. It is said that Ali Koç asked Alkış to come and make a presentation at the Union of Clubs if he manages to collect the necessary signatures.

While 61 signatures are required for candidacy, Alkış has managed to collect nearly 50 signatures.

Another serious candidate is former Samsunspor President İsmail Uyanık. Uyanık, who has been involved in football for a long time, has collected 35 signatures so far and is working to collect 26 more to become a candidate. Uyanık, who appears to be the most athletic and independent candidate among all, does not seem to have any emotional ties to any of the major clubs.
