Accelerating its transfer efforts ahead of the new season, Fenerbahçe Beko has announced that it has reached a 2+1 year agreement with American forward Bonzie Colson.

In the announcement made by the yellow-navy club, it was stated, "Our Fenerbahçe Beko Men's Basketball Team has reached a 2+1 year agreement with American forward Bonzie Colson (1996, 1.98), who most recently played for Maccabi Tel Aviv."

WHO IS BONZIE COLSON?

Born on January 12, 1996, in Washington D.C., the 1.98-meter tall player can play both forward positions. Colson began his basketball career with the college team Notre Dame, playing for the squad between 2014 and 2018.

In 2018-19, Colson played for the G League team Canton Charge, signed a contract with the Milwaukee Bucks in January 2019, and also competed in the G League for the Wisconsin Herd.

In the 2019-20 season, Bonzie Colson headed to our country for his first European experience with Darüşşafaka, where he averaged 12.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, 1.0 assists, and 1.2 steals in the Turkish League. The successful forward also competed in the EuroCup, averaging 10.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, 0.9 steals, 0.6 assists, and an 11.1 efficiency rating.

In the 2020-21 season, Colson played for Strasbourg in France, averaging 18.4 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in the French League. The successful player also reached averages of 18.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.6 assists in the FIBA Champions League. Colson was named MVP in both the FIBA Champions League and the French League.

Returning to our country in the 2021-22 season to sign with Pınar Karşıyaka, Bonzie Colson averaged 15.0 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in the Champions League, while recording 16.9 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 1.6 assists in the Turkish League.

Following his successful performance, he caught the attention of EuroLeague teams and signed with Maccabi Tel Aviv, where he continued his strong play. In his first season, Colson averaged 10.9 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.3 steals in the EuroLeague, and in the 2023-24 season, he recorded 12.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.2 steals.

Bonzie Colson set his EuroLeague career highs in points and efficiency rating in a game against Panathinaikos in January 2023. In that match, Colson produced 29 points and a 41 efficiency rating.
