Fenerbahçe Beko hosted Zalgiris Kaunas in the 22nd round of the 2024-25 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague season.

In the match played at the Ülker Sports and Event Hall, the yellow-navy blues won 98-86 after trailing by as many as 13 points.

With one game in hand, the yellow-navy blues maintained their second-place position with this victory. Zalgiris dropped to 11th place.

Fenerbahçe will face league leaders Olympiacos away in Piraeus next week in the EuroLeague.

THE STORY OF THE MATCH

Starting the game with a lineup of Khem Birch, Nigel Hayes-Davis, Bonzie Colson, Marko Guduric, and Arturs Zagars, Fenerbahçe Beko finished the first quarter trailing 20-17.

Following the opening exchanges of the second quarter, the visiting team found their rhythm through Alen Smailagic and Sylvain Francisco, heading into the locker room with a 47-34 lead.

Fenerbahçe started the second half well with three-pointers and free throws from Tarık Biberovic, cutting the deficit to 5 points: 48-53. Zalgiris Kaunas, led by Sylvain Francisco, prevented the gap from closing further in the remaining minutes, entering the final quarter with a 68-62 lead.

Starting the fourth quarter with two three-pointers from Marko Guduric, our team, Fenerbahçe, leveled the score: 68-68. With the momentum shifting after a 6-0 run, the yellow-navy blues completed a stunning comeback with contributions from Tarık in the paint and three-pointers from Nigel and Colson, taking an 81-72 lead and forcing their opponent to call a timeout.

Continuing their strong performance after the timeout, Fenerbahçe Beko secured a 98-86 victory.
