Fenerbahçe files criminal complaint against Dursun Özbek

Fenerbahçe Sports Club has announced that a criminal complaint has been filed against Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek.

In the statement released by the yellow-navy club, it was stated that the criminal complaint was filed due to Dursun Özbek's remarks on November 6, 2023, and February 27, 2024.

The statement from the club included the following remarks;

"The public is aware of the statements made by the Galatasaray Sports Club President on 27.02.2024 and 06.11.2023, which exceeded limits and boundaries and were of a nature to incite the public to hatred and hostility. We hereby inform the public that a criminal complaint has been filed against the individual in question with the Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office."

DURSUN ÖZBEK'S NOVEMBER 6 STATEMENT

"When you say Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe, we have a fan base that covers 70 to 80 percent of Turkey. There are young people. Young people might get involved in this provocation and kill each other. Anything can happen. Then who will be responsible for this? Galatasaray Sports Club is always the first item on their agenda. 'Erden Timur did this, did that...'.

Let us create a beautiful and fair football climate. Entering people's commercial lives, getting slapped there, getting beaten, telling people to take photos in shopping malls... I have a piece of advice for the Fenerbahçe Sports Club President. Do not do these things! Turkey has always been tried to be provoked and divided. Aren't the PKK and FETÖ trying to divide Turkey? Aren't the statements made also statements that will bring division and polarization? When even they could not divide this country, why are you acting like this?

Here, Mr. Selim Soydan's statement comes to mind. He said about the Fenerbahçe president, 'He is a project.' This time, I am falling for this perception. Why do you declare everyone an enemy? They should not bother in vain. We will always be the side that recommends moderation. Turkey needs this. The Turkish society needs peace. We are against any action that tries to invite unrest. As an older brother, my advice to him is that we no longer need tension. Neither the PKK nor FETÖ could divide this country. No one else can divide or polarize it either."

DURSUN ÖZBEK'S FEBRUARY 27 STATEMENT

"Go to Google; type in pineapple, prayer beads, incentive, match-fixing, friendly matches on turf fields, and see what comes up! As if these things do not exist, as if I had done them, people come out and say things like Karagöz and Hacivat.

I had said that the opposing team and the president of the opposing team were a project. They are still maintaining this identity.
