Fenerbahçe issues stern response to claims of 'tension between Ali Koç and Mourinho'

Galatasaray won the Fenerbahçe-Galatasaray derby 3-1, played in the 6th week of the Trendyol Super League. Former referee and commentator Ahmet Çakar alleged that Fenerbahçe President Ali Koç went down to the locker room during halftime, spoke harshly to the players, and that this caused tension between him and Mourinho.

Claiming that Mourinho did not hold a post-match press conference for this reason, Ahmet Çakar also stated that Acun Ilıcalı tried to calm the tension between the two.

Fenerbahçe issued a written statement regarding these claims, which became a trending topic on social media:

"The claims and statements that our President Ali Koç went down to the locker room during the halftime of last night's match and that there was tension are not true.

Our President did not leave the executive box during the halftime of the match and had no communication with the locker room.

We know very well who put forward this lie and their motives.

We kindly request that these individuals and the imaginary claims and statements they intentionally put forward be disregarded."
