Fenerbahçe nears completion of left-back transfer
The Yellow-Navy Blues have made significant progress in negotiations with PSV Eindhoven's Brazilian left-back Mauro Junior, whom they have identified as a key signing for the new season. It is understood that an agreement in principle with the player is nearing completion.
Fenerbahçe, having appointed İsmail Kartal as head coach, continues its goal of a strong start to the season with its transfer moves. For the left-back position, which is seen as one of the team's primary needs, an agreement is close to being reached with 27-year-old Brazilian footballer Mauro Junior. It is reported that the club is very close to reaching a consensus on personal terms in its discussions with the player's side.
Regarding developments in the transfer, PSV Eindhoven has clarified its demands regarding the transfer fee. While the Dutch club is requesting a transfer fee of 18 million Euros for Mauro Junior, it is stated that this amount could drop to 12 million Euros due to a release clause in the player's contract. Information received suggests that if a positive verbal agreement is reached between the parties, Fenerbahçe plans to utilize this release clause.
The experienced left-back, who appeared in a total of 37 official matches for PSV last season, contributed 1 goal and 11 assists to his team.
