'WE WILL BUILD SUCH A TEAM THAT...'
Speaking about the future of Fenerbahçe after announcing his board of directors list, Koç said, "We will build such a team that I will no longer need to give you a promise of a championship."
'AZİZ YILDIRIM'S CANDIDACY IS A REVENGE TO BE TAKEN FROM ALİ KOÇ'
Stating that there is no environment other than sporting success for Aziz Yıldırım to be a candidate, Ali Koç said, "In terms of the financial picture, it is much easier to be a candidate today compared to 2018. We still have a long way to go. I see Aziz Yıldırım's candidacy more as a revenge to be taken from Ali Koç than for the survival of Fenerbahçe."
'LET US DISCUSS LIKE CIVILIZED PEOPLE BEFORE TALKING ABOUT JOINT INVESTMENT'
Continuing his remarks, Koç said, "We are entering the final stretch with a chance for the championship; this is not the place to discuss technical director issues. Bringing up the Jose Mourinho topic before the derby was a huge misfortune. It created a very negative effect on the team. Aziz Yıldırım says let's make a joint investment that will cost approximately 45 million euros over two years. Before we talk about such an investment together, if we can sit around a table and discuss like civilized people, then we can look into those matters."
“FENERBAHÇE DOES NOT HAVE A SINGLE PENNY TO RECEIVE”
Providing information about the financial reports of the yellow-navy club at the meeting, Ali Koç said, "We used to say our financial independence was in danger, and we focused on this issue as soon as we took office. We have made great progress regarding our independence for a sustainable financial situation. According to the report published by UEFA in 2018, Fenerbahçe was cited as the club closest to bankruptcy in Europe. We were the second-worst club in Europe in terms of the ratio of net debt to revenue. There are 700 clubs in the top and second divisions of European countries.
Among these 700 clubs, we were the worst club in Europe in terms of the ratio of net debt to revenue. In monetary terms, our net debt was the 6th highest in Europe. Clubs with revenues close to a billion dollars did not have as much debt as we did. The headline of the report was also aimed at our club. It was emphasized that it was the most powerful club in Europe. Our total liabilities had reached 612 million Euros, while today our total liabilities have dropped to 307 million Euros. It has literally been cut in half. Our debt, which was 3 billion 180 million TL on May 31, 2018, amounts to 23 billion 610 million TL today with inflation.
'NO MATTER HOW YOU LOOK AT IT, FENERBAHÇE'S DEBT HAS DECREASED'
No matter which exchange rate you look at it from, Fenerbahçe's debts have decreased. Of these debts, 612 million 347 thousand TL was to financial institutions. Today, it has dropped to 104 million Euros. Moreover, 74 million Euros of the 347 million were factoring debts with exorbitant interest rates. Thank God, there is no factoring debt left today. May God never let our club experience those days again.
I believe we are managing our financial structure in the most accurate way. We converted all our debts to TL, and we see today how right we were to do so. From my perspective, the Fenerbahçe Sports Club does not have a single penny to receive. I have said this before; those who claim otherwise are lying."
