Fenerbahçe Presidential Candidate Sadettin Saran's tender remark: 'I applied for Qatari citizenship'

Fenerbahçe presidential candidate Sadettin Saran was a guest on the program 'Az Önce Konuştum' on tv100.

Sadettin Saran answered all the questions on everyone's mind. When asked by Candaş Tolga Işık, "You say you will be a candidate if Ali Koç does not run for president.

Why do you have such a condition?" Saran replied, "Fenerbahçe has not been champion for 10 years. It would be a lie to say there is success here. It would also be unfair and malicious to attribute this failure solely to Ali Koç."

I go to universities everywhere to give talks. During that conspiracy process, I went to Zonguldak University. At the end of the talk, a young kid stood up and said, 'Mr. President, the state's prosecutor and police said there was match-fixing.' I replied that if there was match-fixing, you cannot attribute it solely to Fenerbahçe; everyone did it.

What is your view on the federation? Do you think an election is urgent and necessary?

I was going to say that the sports media and the sports industry will grow a lot. At that time, its turnover in Turkey was 100 million dollars.

How did you become a Fenerbahçe fan, and what does Fenerbahçe mean to you?

When I was a child, at the age of 5, someone asked me, 'Which team do you support?' Someone else said, 'Your father is a Fener fan,' so I said I am a Fener fan. I think everyone should support their father's team. For me, as a former national team captain and a swimmer who has set records, I am incredibly proud of Fenerbahçe. It is not just the biggest sports club in Turkey, but in the world.
