Fenerbahçe's new stars Greenwood, Ake, and Muriqi sign their contracts
Fenerbahçe made a show of strength ahead of the new season with a signing ceremony for its high-profile transfers Mason Greenwood, Nathan Ake, and Vedat Muriqi.
Fenerbahçe has officially signed the players who have sparked excitement in Turkish football. The signing ceremony for Mason Greenwood, Nathan Ake, and the returning Vedat Muriqi was held at the Fenerbahçe Şükrü Saracoğlu Sports Complex 1907 Tribune, located at Chobani Stadium. Board member Cihan Kamer and football director Oğuz Çetin also attended the ceremony.
In his speech, Cihan Kamer highlighted the difficulties of the transfer processes, stating that the Mason Greenwood transfer, in particular, was one of the most challenging in the club's history. Kamer said, "We faced many difficulties for the Greenwood transfer and competed against many rivals. I have been working for 45 years, and I have never experienced anything this difficult in my life. There were two important values in the realization of this transfer. One was our president, Aziz Yıldırım, and the second was Greenwood himself. During this transfer process, what saddened me the most were the reports in social media and the press. Figures of 50-60 million were flying around. The party selling the player also sees these. Aziz Yıldırım said, 'Is the release clause 50 million Euros? If necessary, we will pay 50 million Euros.' Greenwood also said, 'Either Fenerbahçe or Marseille,' and helped us. One or two additions might be made for certain positions. One addition will be made, but we will share which position it is in the future. Now it is the turn of our technical staff and our fans. We ask for our fans' support for 90 minutes," he stated.
Oğuz Çetin stated that they have added important names to the squad with the support of club president Aziz Yıldırım, saying, "With the support Aziz Yıldırım has given us, we have brought very important players to the team. Managing this process was not easy at all. Thanks to the players' desire to be at Fenerbahçe and their willingness to show it during this transfer process, we are able to stand strongly before you today." he said.

Vedat Muriqi emphasized that it is a great honor for him to reunite with the yellow-navy jersey. The experienced center-forward shared his feelings with the words, "I would like to thank our management and our fans for giving me this opportunity again. I am honored and proud to wear this honorable jersey again. First of all, I would like to thank my coach Oğuz and brother Cihan for their kind words. These transfer processes are difficult. Our football manager and football director know this very well. As players, because we know the greatness of Fenerbahçe, we tried to do our best to show everyone that we are worthy of this badge."

Nathan Ake described the days he spent with his teammates at the Austria camp and his happiness at joining Fenerbahçe, saying, "I am very happy. I would like to thank our president and our board of directors for the trust they have shown in me. I am very happy to be here. I spent a very nice 1-2 days with the team in Austria. We have a very strong team. I can't wait to start the season," he stated.
Mason Greenwood, reminding that the transfer was a difficult process, said, "I would like to thank our president and our board members. The transfer process took a long time, but I am very happy to be here. I want to contribute to our team. We really have a good squad. We must all work very hard together to reach the championship. We need to look at it match by match. I have very good thoughts about the team. I can't wait to start working as soon as possible," he said.
