FIFA makes surprise intervention in that country's World Cup jersey

According to information obtained, the fact that the design elements on Haiti's new jerseys were inspired by the Haitian Revolution, which symbolizes the country's independence from French colonialism and slavery, led FIFA to evaluate this design as having "political content." Consequently, FIFA demanded that both the home and away jerseys be changed.

In a written statement, the jersey manufacturer emphasized that "they worked in close cooperation with FIFA to bring the design into compliance with the rules, and that the requested changes were applied to the jerseys, completing the mandatory review process."
