FIFA to award 1 billion dollars to clubs

The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, which will be held in the USA between June 15 and July 13, is drawing attention with a total prize pool of 1 billion dollars. The 32 clubs competing in the tournament will receive 475 million dollars of this prize based on their sporting performance, and 525 million dollars as a participation fee.

The tournament format is planned to consist of a group stage and play-offs. The team that becomes the champion will play a total of 7 matches and will be the owner of a 125 million dollar prize.

The cup will be organized by FIFA with 32 teams for the first time. The teams will be divided into 8 groups of 4, and each group will face each other in a single-match format. The teams that finish their groups in the top two spots will compete in the knockout stages in a single-match format.

NEW RULES AND TRANSFER WINDOW

In this year's tournament, a new rule will be implemented to prevent goalkeepers from wasting time. Goalkeepers will be able to hold the ball in their hands for a maximum of 8 seconds, and in case of a time violation, a corner kick will be awarded to the opposing team. Additionally, referees will use body cameras during matches to offer spectators a different perspective.

FIFA has opened a special transfer window for the 32 clubs participating in the tournament. Participating teams had the opportunity to strengthen their squads between June 1 and June 10.
