Fines for Galatasaray and Beşiktaş
Following fan incidents and disciplinary violations during the Basketball Super League play-off quarter-final series, Galatasaray and Beşiktaş have been issued heavy fines. Additionally, Beşiktaş administrative manager Murat Mürtezaoğlu has also been penalized.
Disciplinary violations, fan unrest, and unsportsmanlike conduct during the Türkiye Sigorta Basketball Super League play-off quarter-final matches between Galatasaray and Beşiktaş have resulted in significant fines for both clubs.
Following an evaluation by the TBF Disciplinary Board, Galatasaray MCT Technic was fined a total of 830 thousand TL due to spectator incidents and the disruption of arena order during the Galatasaray-Beşiktaş derby played on May 28.
In the same match, Beşiktaş GAİN administrative manager Murat Mürtezaoğlu received a fine of 50 thousand 625 TL by the decision of the disciplinary board due to his "physical intervention that exceeded the level of an assault."
Another fine was issued to the Beşiktaş GAİN club due to ugly and improper chanting during the third match played at Akatlar Sports Hall on May 30. The black-and-white team faced a fine of 430 thousand TL due to the negative chanting caused by their fans.
