In a statement released by the black-and-white club, the board's decision was announced with the following words;
"Our board of directors has decided to hold an extraordinary elective general assembly meeting to take place no later than the beginning of December. The date on which the extraordinary elective general assembly meeting will be held will be announced at a press conference to be held next week."

Born in 1959, businessman Hasan Arat played professional basketball for Beşiktaş for 5 years. Following his athletic career, which ended in 1981, Arat served as vice president for the black-and-white club between 1998 and 2000 during the Süleyman Seba era.
