Footballers on the march: Major backlash against TFF's new rule!

The new age rule that the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) is set to implement in the 3rd League has sparked a major backlash among footballers. The reactions, which began on social media, continued with a protest march held in Riva.

250 footballers, along with their families, wore black clothing and marched to the TFF headquarters in Riva. The players demanded the cancellation of the rule, which will come into effect in the 2025-2026 season and limits the number of players over the age of 25 to five.

Although the TFF had not granted an appointment to the Turkish Professional Footballers Association, they agreed to meet with two executives and three footballers following the protest. During this meeting, the players expressed that the new rule would negatively impact their careers.

According to the decision made by the TFF, 3rd League clubs will be able to include a maximum of five players born on or before December 31, 2000, in their squads. This decision is viewed by many footballers as a step that restricts their careers.
